In retirement, thoroughbred Invasor will likely leave a sire's legacy. His record as a runner (11 wins in 12 starts) was outstanding, but his legacy will be his get. His racing record will become the least of his accomplishments, is my bet.
His owners, Shadwell Stable, have more track stars. Lahudood is their current one. Lahudood, running in Great Briton, recently led the weekly dollar race, earning more than the nine next best thoroughbreds.
Approaching the Breeders' Cup World Championships, stables, trainers, and jockeys are all trying to get a heads up look at their best prospects to win at Monmouth Park. As September waned, the ten best earners were:
(1)Shadwell Stable-----3 starters---2 firsts---1 stakes winner---earnings $379,424---leading earner Lahudood at $360,000
(2)Moss, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome S.-----3---2---1---$328,600---Tiago at $300,000 (3)Millennium Farms-----4---1---1---earnings $318,268---Student Council at $300,000 (4)Fox Hill Farms, Inc.-----5---1---1---earnings 288,480---Hard Spun at $280,000 (5)Warren B. Williamson-----1---1---1---$240,000---Nashoba's Key at $240,000 (6)Stonach Stables-----17---4---0---$205,587---Citronnade at $80,000 (7)Zayat Stables, LLC-----12---1---1---$184,659---Premium Wine at $150,000 (8)S J Stables, LLC-----1---1---1---$179,856---Cloudy's Knight at $179,856 (9)Indian Mills Stock Farm-----2---1---2---$159,360---Speechifying at $150,000 (10)Stetson Land and Cattle LLP-----2---1---1---$159,000---Cry and Catch Me at $150,000.
At least eight of those leading earner horses are penciled in for the Breeders' Cup races scheduled for October 26th and 27th on this year's expanded championships card.
