12:40 – countryclub.co.uk Corporate Clothing Juvenile Novices’ Hurdle – 2m 2f 110y
Art Exhibition won the opening race of the meeting under the mount of jockey N Fehily. The C J Mann trained 9/1 shot won comfortably by 13 lengths from Morestead backed at 14/1. A further 13 lengths behind was Harveys Spirit who claimed third place at 10/1. The favourite at 2/1, Sufad finished a disappointing 8th place whilst 6/1 second favourite Kashmina was only one place better off in seventh position.
13:10 – Tiana Honey Watson Memorial Fund Beginners’ Chase – 2m 6f
A Thornton rode 5/2 hopeful Sound Accord to victory in race two of the day. The D W P Arbuthnot trained 7 year-old finished six lengths clear of second placed Chiaro, the 9/4 second favourite. Carrick Oscar, the 2/1 favourite claimed third place, ¾ of length behind the runner-up.
13:40 – Hyder Consulting (UK) Selling Hurdle – 2m 4f
The G L Moore trained 6/4 favourite Swift Sailor took race three of the day under the jockeyship of J E Moore. The winning margin was 2 ½ lengths back to second placed 66/1 outsider Flaming Creek. Head ToKerry backed at 18/1 was edged out by a head to claim third place. 8/1 co-second favourites CaptainBecket and Ouste both finished down the field and had to settle for fifth and ninth place respectively.
14:10 – Wellpool Building and Maintenance Services Selling Handicap Chase – 2m 4f
The Mrs L Richards trained Kappelhoff was a comfortable winner of race four under the mount of Matthew Batchelor. The 6/1 shot raced clear in the final furlong to win by 11 lengths from Fisherman Jack backed at 10/1 in second place. Second favourite Vibe at 3/1 finished a further ¾ of a length back in third place. Gray’s Eulogy, the 11/4 favourite unseated jockey J E Moore at the second fence.
14:40 – Deadman Trucking Ltd Novices Hurdle – 2m 4f
3/1 favourite Missoula was a winner for trainer Miss S Smith in race five of the meeting. The winner under the mount of C Bolger rode clear after the last hurdle to record victory by a length from 14/1 shot KingEdmund. 9/2 hopeful Balthazar King claimed third place a further 1 ¼ lengths behind, whilst 7/2 second favourite The Wedding Horse finished down in eighth place
15:10 – Wellpool Contract Cleaning & Maintenance Services Handicap Chase – 3m 2f 110y
Favourite backers were celebrating again following race six and a win for 7/2 favourite Freeze Up. Tom Schudamore rode the winner to a comfortable victory for the David Pipe stable to finish 11 lengths clear of second placed Mr Big, the 13/2 second favourite. Outsider All Sonsilver at 33/1 was some distance behind the front two, but still claimed third place by a neck, from 8/1 shot Orion Star in fourth.
15:40 – Tcharmed.org.uk Handicap Hurdle – 2m 2f 110y
The final race produced a second victory of the day for the partnership of jockey J E Moore and trainer G L Moore. Equilibria backed at 15/2 won by a margin of 1 ½ lengths ahead of 14/1 shot Carly Bay in second place. In a close finish for places Nike Walker finished third by a head at 16/1, with 33/1 outsider MysticStorm finishing in fourth place by a neck. 15/8 favourite Golden Feather finished down in sixth place, with 6/1 second favourite Roughing It trailed home in twelfth position.
