March Wins for Three-Year-Old Fillies

Justwhistledixie Took Her Third 2009 Stakes; Affirmed Filly Won

Dixie Union's Justwhistledixie went to the post twice in March and remained undefeated in her last five contests. Affirmed Truth blitzed six furlongs in the Rainbow.

Justwhistledixie continued her winning streak, running to her fifth win from her last five races in the March 27 Bonnie Miss Stakes at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Florida. She also triumphed March 1 in the Davona Dale Stakes at Gulfstream.

An Affirmed filly, Affirmed Truth, flew through the field in the Rainbow Miss Stakes at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas March 28. Affirmed Truth covered the six furlongs in a speedy 1:11.11, beating two Storm and a Half fillies.

Stardom Bound Pushed to Wire in Santa Anita Oaks

Stardom Bound had her hooves full in the Santa Anita Oaks with come-ons from Third Dawn, a Sky Mesa filly and Hooh Why, who wouldn't give up at the wire. A Tapit star, Stardom Bound got pushed eight wide on the turn, but jockey Mike Smith still managed to guide the talented filly to the wire a bare nose in front of Third Dawn.

Hooh Why was another nose back and a neck ahead of fourth place finisher Nan.
